Woman dies following A98 crash near Fochabers

A woman has died following a crash in Moray during the early hours of this morning.
The 83-year-old was taken to Dr Gray's Hospital following the incident near the roundabout junction with the A96 east of Fochabers.
However, she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police say the woman was the driver and sole occupant of a red Vauxhall Astra involved in the crash at 4:25am.
Her next of kin has been made aware.
Sergeant Steve Manson of the North East Road Policing Unit said: "Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends at this difficult time.
"Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would urge anyone who may have information or dashcam footage from the area this morning to get in touch.
"Please pass any information on by calling 101, quoting incident 0320 of 4 March, 2022."
