Woman airlifted to hospital after pedestrians struck by car in Portsoy

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after four pedestrians were hit by a car in an Aberdeenshire village.

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after four pedestrians were hit by a car in an Aberdeenshire village.

The 50-year-old is said to be in a serious condition after sustaining serious leg injuries following the collision at the Square in Portsoy at around 2.40pm on Tuesday.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene and a 49-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she is also being treated for leg injuries.

Two other women, aged 50 and 52, who caught up in the crash were looked over at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.

MFR News understands an 80-year-old woman's been charged in connection with the incident and a report's been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
