Police divers are expected to trawl the bottom of Wick Harbour after a car was found in the water.

Poor visibility hampered attempts to determine if anyone else was inside the vehicle, after a man was picked up on Thursday and taken to Caithness General Hospital.

Emergency services have been unable to find out more from that man, with his condition "serious"

Police, coastguard and RNLI teams were involved in handling the incident, although Wick RNLI were stood down by Thursday evening with dive teams not expected to arrive until the following day.

On Friday a car was recovered from the water, but there was no one else inside the vehicle.

Prior to that, a sonar scan of the harbour has been carried out to determine what's beneath the water, in case another person was inside the car.
