Two shipping containers holding thousands of items donated by people in the Highlands will head from Dingwall to Chios, a Greek island to help refugees arriving in Europe.

Two shipping containers holding thousands of items donated by people in the Highlands will head from Dingwall to Chios, a Greek island, to help refugees arriving in Europe.

The clothes, toiletries and toys have given by people from all over the Highlands and Islands.

A group called The Highlands Supports Refugees, who have hundreds of volunteers, is co-ordinating the effort.

The group have a six-month lease to use the Children's Centre in Dingwall as their premises, after it was donated by the Highland Council.

Once the shipping containers have been cleared of their items, they will be used as warehouses.
