WATCH: New Cycle Record For NC500

Mark Beaumont finished the route in around 38 hours.

Cyclist Mark Beaumont has conquered the North Coast 500 in a single journey.

He finished the route around the west and east coast in 38 hours.

He set off from Inverness Castle on Monday morning at 6am.

From there, he made his way through Ullapool, on towards Durness.

Riding through the night, he made it to John O'Groats, before riding along the east coast.

He return to the Highland Capital late last night.

Mark said: "Every village and town, people came out to cheer me on.

"They were clapping and had homemade signs along the way; some of them even joined in cycling.

"It really kept me going."
