Woman who lives near Elgin forced to prove she was single
A working Moray mum has told MFR News that her life was turned upside down by a foreign firm hired by the UK Government to target benefit fraudsters.
Concentrix accused single mum Alison Stuart of being in a relationship and living with a partner, and then stopped paying her ÂŁ200 a week in tax credits.
It took the 39-year-old from Urquhart, near Elgin, five weeks to prove the US-firm had made a mistake based on false information relating to people who had previously lived at her home address.
After nationwide failures, HMRC has decided not to renew Concentrix' contract when it ends in May next year.
