3 men had to be rescued after their boat got into difficulty on Loch Ness.

The vessel was battered by waves and high winds, becoming trapped near the southern shore at Foyers.

Lifeboat crew had to pull the boat clear into open water after it became stuck on a shingle bank.

The 3 men were unhurt and their craft wasn't damaged.

They were then towed by to Foyers Bay.

RNLI Loch Ness Volunteer Jamie Young says: "Thankfully this situation was easily resolved.

"We practice regularly for this type of rescue.

"We encourage all loch users to keep a close eye on the weather and make sure that they have a reliable means of communication for emergencies."
