WATCH: Fort George looks to wow the north with military spectacle

The Highland Military Tattoo is taking place at Fort George from 9th to 11th September - including pipes and drums, re-enactors, singers... and fireworks

The third Highland Tattoo at Fort George promises to be the biggest yet.

As well as traditional pipe bands and Scottish dancers - local Military Wives Choirs will be taking part, with recreations of some of the key moments from the First World War.

The family friendly event will start with RAF Typhoons flying overhead and finish with a fire work display:-

Highlights of the Tattoo include:

• A performance from the Royal Band of the Belgian Navy

• 10 top class military and local pipe bands

• Inverness and Lossiemouth Military Wives Choirs, performing with top Gaelic singer, James Graham

• More than 50 local Highland dancers

• Military history – the Battle of the Somme in its 100th anniversary year and the naval Battle of Jutland will be recreated, bringing to life great acts of bravery by Scottish soldiers
