Police watchdog investigates after pedestrian seriously hurt
The young girl, who was hit by a police van on patrol in Elgin on Saturday night, is in a "stable condition" in hospital - according to Police Scotland.
She was crossing the A941 Lossiemouth Road at the time of the crash near Gray's Walk before 7pm.
The seriously injured child was flown by helicopter to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, after an ambulance rushed the 10-year-old to nearby Dr Gray's Hospital for medical scans.

The police watchdog - Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) - is probing the incident, and Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses to come forward to help their enquiries.

The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (Pirc) is investigating.
A Pirc spokesman said: "The commissioner is carrying out an investigation into the circumstances of an incident in which a marked police van was involved in a collision with a 10-year-old girl on Saturday November 26th in Elgin"
"The girl suffered serious injuries and was initially treated at Dr Gray's Hospital, Elgin, before being later airlifted to the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital"
"The matter has been referred to the Pirc by Police Scotland for investigation and a report on the findings will be submitted to the Deputy Chief Constable in due course.''
The marked police van, driven by a male officer, was carrying out routine patrols in the area at the time of the crash.
The road was closed after the incident to allow investigations to take place.
