WATCH: Elgin base set up to help refugees abroad

We hear how Syrian refugee families are coping in Forres

Published 13th Jun 2016

We're hearing how the four-Syrian refugee families resettled in Moray are coping with life in Forres.

The update's coming from the voluntary group Moray Supports Refugees.

The organisation's been given the use of three-units at Chanonry Business Centre in Elgin rent-free.

The agreement with Moray Council, which owns the units, means that volunteers have a new base at which to sort through donated items to prepare for shipping abroad to help refugees.

Moray Supports Refugees has already been working with the local authority to help the Syrian families in the North adjust to a new life in Scotland.

The group is currently in the process of becoming a charity.
