Warning to act sensibly when heading to beauty spots in Scotland this weekend
People are being asked to avoid going to busy areas
There is a warning for people heading to beauty spots across Scotland this weekend.
Thousands of us made journeys to see loved ones yesterday after coronavirus travel rules were eased.
Parking fines were handed out as cars were left in dangerous places because car parks at hotspots were full.
Enforcement teams were on site at Balmaha, Aberfoyle and Callander to ensure these sites didn't become overcrowded.
Vicki Miller, Director of Marketing at Visit Scotland, said: "It is good to plan ahead and check if car parks and beauty spots are really busy before you leave.
"If you find yourself in a crowded place then move on because there will be somewhere else you can have a great experience and enjoy some more space.
"We need to remember to follow the local guidance around social distancing and not be parking in busy places."
Student Adam Morrison was among a group of young people making the most of being able to move around the country freely for the first time this year.
He said: "As long as people are sensible and don't overcrowd these places then people should be able to enjoy the new freedoms without having to worry.
"It is about time that we can have fun in a sensible way without taking it too far.
"There are loads of places across the country we can go if somewhere is too busy."
