An Easter Ross grandmother says she's 'heartbroken' and 'concerned' about fight videos involving young Highland children.
Shocking footage, which was recently shared on social media, shows the woman's grandson being kicked and beaten.
His family say he was taken to hospital for treatment following the attack.
A clip of the incident is understood to have been uploaded to a social media account featuring violent incidents in the Highlands.
MFR News has taken the decision not to post the video.
The grandmother, who wishes to remain anonymous, says she's aware of several videos showing young children being attacked and then being posted to the page.
She said: "After the last attack on my grandson a few weeks ago, he required hospital treatment.
"He had a black eye, bruises round his temple, his body was bruised, his legs were bruised.
"My grandson’s mental health has been affected a great deal by this.
"He’s been very depressed, there’s been multiple attacks so he’s not been able to sleep.
"There’s a page on Snapchat which keeps being put up and these videos are being uploaded regularly.
"It’s heart-breaking to see my grandson suffer but it’s also heart-breaking to see other children suffer."
After sharing her concerns about the video, she says a number of other parents and grandparents have been in touch with her.
She added: "My concerns about the number of attack videos being posted on social media is that some of these children posting the videos are very young.
"A six year old girl approached my grandson in the garden, whilst my daughter was there and said ‘haha, I saw you were beaten up in a video’
"It’s concerning that you’re getting really young children being able to see these really violent videos.
"There were a number of parents who were shocked.
"Other parents and grandparents got in touch with me to say that they felt the same because their child or grandchild were going through similar things."
Police Scotland have confirmed they were called out to the incident.
A spokesperson said: "A 12-year-old has since been cautioned and charged with this offence."
We understand no official complaint about the social media page in question has been made to Police Scotland.
