We're lifting the lid on the human cost of human trafficking after being given exclusive access to a Scotland-wide police crackdown.

As part of anti-slavery day we joined officers and HMRC and immigration officials who targeted nail bars, car washes and construction sites to identify people at risk.

Police Scotland is hailing the operation saying they identified a number of individuals as potentially being at risk from human trafficking going on to say they engaged with them to ensure their well-being.

In addition a number of people have been detained in connection with the operation.

At a nail bar in Kirkcaldy a number of Vietnamese men spoke of being paid a pittance in exchange for cramped accommodation with some not receiving any wages at all.
