Van and trailer collision on A96 sees person taken to Raigmore Hospital

A person has been taken to Raigmore Hospital after a two vehicle collision on the A96.

It happened around 11am on Tuesday near to Inverness Airport with a van and a tractor towing a trailer involved.

The road was closed for around four and a half hours for emergency services and also to allow investigation work.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11am on Tuesday, 4th October, Police were called to the A96 between Dalcross and Nairn, following a report of a two-vehicle crash, involving a white Nissan van and a trailer which was being drawn by a JCB tractor.

"One person was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment and the road was cleared around 3.30pm"
