'Unexploded ordnance' found in busy retail area of Elgin

Part of a retail park in Moray has been closed off after an unexploded ordnance was discovered.
Officers were called out to the Edgar Road area of Elgin at around 12.35pm this afternoon, after the "old" device was found.
A cordon is in place and a specialist explosives team have been informed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson: "Around 12.35pm on Wednesday, 12 March, 2025, we were called to a report of an old unexploded ordnance device found in the Edgar Road area of Elgin.
"A cordon is in place around the area as a precaution and EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) have been informed."
We contacted Asda who say their Elgin store remains unaffected and open as usual.
