Two women had to be rescued from a rocky cliff edge on the Black Isle yesterday - after becoming stranded.

They had been walking along the shoreline at Gallow Hill when they became trapped by the incoming tide.

They were rescued by Invergordon RNLI and taken back to Cromarty Harbour.

No one was injured.

Invergordon Lifeboat Coxswain, Bruce Rae said: “In the light of this call-out, and the pleasurable weather condition’s, always remember about safety and ensure when our walking along shorelines, you take into consideration tides and accessibility as part of your route planning.”
