Two people have been treated for the effects of smoke inhalation following a house fire in Aberdeenshire.

Two people have been treated for the effects of smoke inhalation following a house fire in Aberdeenshire.

Firefighters were called to reports of a blaze at a house on Provost Stewart Place in Stonehaven at around 9pm on Friday.

Two fire appliances attended the "small" fire and two casualties were treated at the scene for the effects of smoke inhalation.

A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue, said: "We received a call at 20:58 to reports of a fire on Provost Stewart Place.

"We had two appliances from Stonehaven attend. It was a very small fire. There were two casualties with smoke inhalation."

A spokesman for Scottish Ambulance Service, said: "We received an emergency call shortly after 9pm this evening to attend a fire.

"A local ambulance crew attended and they treated two casualties on scene for the effects of smoke inhalation. They did not require to go to hospital."
