Two people in hospital after three-car smash in Inverness

Caulfield Road was closed for a number of hours as emergency services dealt with the crash

Two people are in hospital after a three-car smash in Inverness today.

The collision happened on Caulfield Road at Tower Road at lunchtime with emergency services racing to the scene.

Police and ambulance vehicles scrambled along with two fire engines and the road has been closed.

There is no information on the condition of those taken to hospital.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 12.25pm to a report of a three vehicle crash on Caulfield Road at Tower Road, Inverness.

"Two people were taken to hospital and the road has since reopened."
