Two men have died in a two-car crash on the A9.

The accident happened at around 4pm today on the section of the road near Dunkeld, Perthshire.

The men, aged 47 and 48, died at the scene, police said.

Their families have been informed.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them on the non-emergency 101 number.

Work to convert the A9 to a complete dual carriageway has started but will not be completed until 2025, according to plans.

In a bid to improve safety on the road, average speed cameras were installed along much of it last year.
