Police dog units and the coastguard had been assisting in the hunt for 85-year-old Kathleen Edward (above) from Aberlour.
The pensioner was reported missing from the town's Broomfield Square area at around 2.30pm on Tuesday.
Tonight (Thursday, January 28th) Police Scotland confirmed that a body recovered near to the Bridge of Sourden in the Rothes area has been identified as Kathleen Edward.
Another body discovered in a similar area has since been identified as missing Rosemary Laing (below), 77, from the Rothes area.
She was reported missing on Wednesday and was last spoken to the previous evening, police said.
Speaking about the searches to trace both ladies Chief Inspector Stewart Mackie said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their help and information in relation to the searches for both ladies. The support from the public for both of these sad cases has been very much appreciated.
"I would also like to express our gratitude for the assistance we've received from the Coastguard and members of the Braemar Mountain Rescue Team."
