Tributes to Inverness songwriter David Balfe
He was the man who wrote MFR's famous jingles in the 80s
Inverness songwriter David Balfe has died at the age of 74.
He composed the song "Beautiful Sunday" for Daniel Boone - it became a classic "slosh" song played at thousands of weddings.
He also wrote the Chelsea FC song "Blue is the Colour."
His son Lorne - a hugely successful composer for film and TV - confirmed the sad news on social media:
And for MFR listeners, David will always be remembered for his catchy jingles back in the 80s and the 90s.
