Tributes paid to teenager who died after Thurso cliff fall

Multiple tributes have been made after an 18-year-old woman died in the Far North.

Alesha Wright was found lifeless by rescuers after falling 50ft from a costal path close to the Victoria Walk area of Thurso.

A 26-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to hospital following the incident on Monday night.

Hours before the incident, Alesha posted a selfie online.

Since her death, tributes have poured in.

Birdie Nicholson said: "Alesha was a beautiful girl with a heart of gold, she'll be missed."

Stacey Bridge said the teenager "was such a beautiful soul inside and out".

She added: "I'm glad I had the chance to meet you beautiful."

And Leah Marie said: "Fly high my gorgeous girl, love you always."

Police Scotland have confirmed they are currently treating Alesha's death as "unexplained"

A spokesperson said: "Around 5.50pm on Monday, 11 July, 2022, officers were called to the Victoria Walk area in Thurso, following a report of a man and woman having fallen from a cliff.

"Emergency services and Coastguard attended but an 18-year-old woman had died.

"Her next of kin have been informed. Her death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing."
