Carl Tremarco believes being part of Caley Thistle is about creating memories, both for fans and players, and once again the club is presented with another chance to add to their haul of silverware in their short history.

Saturday's Irn Bru Cup final sees destination McDairmid Park as Dumbarton and ICT as Inverness vie for their second title in the competition.

Despite any people who may play down the significance of the cup, alongside league titles, the Scottish Cup or League Cup, Tremarco is adamant that the oportunity for silverware should be a big attraction for footballer worth his salt.

"If you treat a cup without the respect it deserves, I don't really think you should be playing - it's a cup, it's something to win, you get pictures, memories, it's a great day out"

"...it's all about preparing in the right manner, making memories, and setting this club back in the winning mentality" - Carl Tremarco

"There's young boys in the side who maybe haven't experienced some big games, unlike myself, Gaz (Gary Warren) and Vigs (Iain Vigurs) - but this might be your only final. That's how I looked when we were in the League Cup final and Scottish Cup final"

"That said, it's trophy, it's a medal, you show your kids, grandkids - "oh yeah, I won this" - so it's all about preparing in the right manner, making memories, and setting this club back in the winning mentality"

Tremarco accepts it's been a season of transition in the second-tier of Scottish Football, but he says he's been heartened this term by the addition of some of younger players who've come through the ranks.

The defender believes it's important for them to get hooked by the buzz of success from winning a trophy and regaining the feel-good factor at the club.

"I signed from Oldham for Tranmere aged 15 and it was the same week they were in the League Cup final against Leicester (1999-2000). John Aldridge the Tranmere manager at the time - even though there was all the preparation attached with a Wembley Final - still took time out to say, "We've got high hopes for you... you look at where the boys are this week""

"So obviously me sat in his office - a 15 year old kid - signing my papers, I'm thinking to myself - wow! - just the whole feel as a professional. Even though I had nothing to do with the match! But just the build-up and the feel I got off him and all around the club"

"It just left me thinking, "I hope one day I'm part of a final myself just like these guys", so with that in mind, the players we have now - likes of Dan Mackay, Cammy Harper, Jack Brown, we hope that they'll look towards us. That they'll want to be winning trophies, aspiring to that and looking to get on board and progress at this club"
