Train Windscreen Damaged By Tree
Passengers on the 6:50am service from Inverness to Edinburgh were unhurt.
A train's windscreen was damaged after being hit by a tree in the Highlands.
No one was hurt on the 6:50am Inverness to Edinburgh service when it struck at Slochd.
The tree collided with the train around 7:30am.
Journeys were suspended for 2 hours while the line was cleared.
The train returned to Inverness and passengers were able to travel on the East Coast Kings Cross service to Edinburgh.
A spokeswoman for ScotRail said: “At around 07:30 this morning, ScotRail’s 06:50 Inverness to Edinburgh service struck a tree on the line near Slochd.
“No passengers were injured, and the driver was unharmed but understandably shaken.”
