More than a thousand pounds worth of tools have been stolen in Buckie.

The first crime occurred between Wednesday 15th November and Wednesday 22nd November 2017 at the Mill of Buckie area of Buckie where an orange coloured MBW compactor was stolen – it’s worth just over £1000

Then, overnight this Wednesday (22nd November) in Douglas Crescent, a Nissan Van was broken into and a green and blue box containing a red and green Makita drill, batteries and drill bits were stolen which are valued at a mid-three figure sum.

Inspector Neil Campbell said: "Now that we are into the dark winter nights, I would urge the public particularly those in the building trade and house holders alike to ensure that houses, vehicles and any property of value is locked and secured and anything of value placed out of sight to prevent opportunistic thefts occurring.

"I would ask anyone who saw anything suspicious or untoward in these areas at the relevant times or is offered the items for sale to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 0380 of 22 November or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous."
