Police in Thurso have discovered thousands of pounds worth of drugs after a car was pulled over by officers.

The drugs bust happened after a car was stopped in the town yesterday...

Offers searching it found ÂŁ6,000 in cash, and a stash of cannabis with a street value of ÂŁ24,000.

A 37-year-old man's expected to appear at Wick Sheriff Court after being charged in connection with the recovery.

Inspector Marlene MacDonald told MFR News: "Our communities in Caithness and across the Highlands have made it very clear that they will not tolerate the use or trade in illegal drugs.

"As a force we will act on any information from the public which can help us remove more drugs from our streets."
