Three people dead after A9 crash

Police Scotland have provided an update following this morning's crash at the Slochd Summit

Police officers have confirmed three people have died following a crash on the A9 this morning.

Emergency services rushed out to the three vehicle crash at the Slochd Summit just after 11:40 am.

Four people were taken to hospital, the extent to which a fourth person was injured is unknown at the time of writing.

Police Scotland confirmed the fatalities in a short statement earlier.

A spokesperson said: "Police Scotland can confirm that three people have died following a road crash on the A9 at Slochd Summit on Tuesday, 5 July 2022.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision.

"The road is currently closed and diversions are in place."
