Three injured in collision near Dalwhinnie

A woman has been seriously injured following a collision between two cars on the A9.

The incident involving a red Ford Focus and silver Toyota Hilux happened near Dalwhinnie around 5.30pm on Friday night.

The 72 year old female driver of the Ford Focus, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was flown to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

The passenger from the Ford Focus and driver from the Toyota Hilux were taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital Inverness with less serious injuries.

The road was closed until 0030am Saturday 9th June, to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out at the scene.

Sergeant Chris Murray, of the road policing unit, said ''Our enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal for anyone who saw these vehicles prior to the collision and who have not already spoken with officers to come forward.''
