Teenager plans climate change protest in Inverness

13 year old Eric Ness has organised a climate change event in Inverness at Falcon Square at midday on Saturday 25 May.

Eric tells MFR News politicians need to bring in change:

'We have quite a few speakers, someone from a local group called GreenHive who are really into their eco-work, and someone from Extinction Rebellion Highlands and Islands called Fiona Cormie.

'People can't stop driving, or going anywhere all the time, so it is the people in power who are the people who really need to be doing something.

'Politicians are the real people in power, they can really make a difference, they have the power to changes things.

'People in Parliament are saying it is an emergency and they are admitting to it, but we really need to see real action being done first. People admit to it but I haven't actually seen anything done.'

Meanwhile, events were held on Friday 24 May at locations including outside the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and at George Square in Glasgow.

Protests were also held in towns and cities across the country including Aberdeen, Fort William, Skelmorlie, Aboyne, Fort William, Peebles, Nairn, Stirling and Ullapool
