Teenager dies in three-vehicle collision on the A9

The incident happened near Munlochy around 6.55pm on Friday night.

A teenager had died in a three vehicle collision in the Highlands.

The crash involving involving a white Nissan Juke, a red Vauxhall Corsa and a blue VW Polo, occurred on the A9 at the junction of the B9161 to Munlochy around 6.55pm on Fright night.

The passenger of the Vauxhall Corsa was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, but the 16-year-old later died from his injuries.

The driver of the VW Polo was also taken to hospital, but their injuries are not known.

Sergeant Angus Murray, of the Dingwall Road Policing Unit, said: ''We are supporting the young man’s family at this time and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

I would encourage anyone who may have seen what happened to contact us. I would also ask if there are drivers with dash-cam footage which might help with our investigation to call us.
