Teen 'seriously injured' after motorbike crash in Moray

Police are urging anyone who has any information which could assist them to get in touch.

A 19-year-old has been left seriously injured in hospital following a collision between an SUV and a motorbike in Moray.

The crash, involving a white Vauxhall Crossland and a blue Yamaha FZ6 Fazer, happened on the B9013 Roseisle to Burghead Road at around 9.55pm last night.

Emergency services attended and the teenage motorcyclist was taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin for treatment, before he was transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Police say his injuries are described as serious.

Those in the Vauxhall were not injured.

The road was closed for around five hours to allow for investigations to be carried out and re-opened around 3.30am this morning.

Constable Callum Hogg of the Elgin Road Policing Unit said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into this incident and I am appealing for anyone who has any information which could assist to contact us.

“In particular, we would be keen to speak to anyone who saw the vehicles before the crash or who were in the area at the time and who may have dash cam which could assist to get in touch.”
