Teen with facial injuries in serious Inverness assault

Police in Inverness are appealing for information after a serious assault in the Falcon Square area during the early hours of Monday the 14th of August.

The 16-year-old boy sustained facial injuries during the incident, which happened around 1:30 am.

He was approached by an unknown man before the assault took place in a lane just off Falcon Square.

Officers are keen to speak the man who came up to him, who was riding a bike, wearing a grey hoodie and grey tracksuit trousers.

The victim later received treatment at Raigmore Hospital for his injuries.

Detective Inspector Steven MacKenzie said: “We are appealing for information after this serious assault which has left a young man with facial injuries"

“In particular, we would like to hear from anyone who was in Falcon Square or the surrounding area in the city centre at about 1:30 am on Monday and saw anything they believe could be suspicious"
