Secondary schools re-zoning proposals go out to consultation in Moray

Re-zoning proposals for the catchment areas for some of Moray’s secondary schools will be presented to parents this week.

The council's proposing to vary the catchment areas for Forres Academy, Lossiemouth High School, Elgin Academy, Elgin High School and Milne’s High School.

Some zones date back to the 1970s and pre-Grampian days, but the development and population growth in Moray since then means these boundaries are increasingly irrelevant.

A public consultation will run until the 24th March to allow people to share their views.

The final proposals will be submitted to the council’s Children and Young People’s Services Committee, and if approved will be implemented on the 24th October 2016.
