Search For Missing Hillwalker To Resume

Eric Cyl failed to return from a walk in the Highlands on Saturday.

A search for a hill walker who went missing in the Highlands is due to resume this morning.

Eric Cyl was last seen setting off for the Mamore mountain range, near Fort William on Saturday afternoon.

It's believed he may have been in an area known as Ring of Steall.

Helicopter and rescue dogs were deployed to trace him yesterday.

The 62 year old was wearing a light grey jacket and dark trousers, and had been carrying walking poles.

A police spokesperson said: "The search has involved both Lochaber and Glencoe mountain rescue teams, assisted by Search and Rescue Dogs and a Coastguard helicopter.

"The search commenced this morning and is planned to continue tomorrow.

"Mr Cyl was last seen wearing a light grey jacket and dark trousers.

"He was walking alone and aided by two walking poles.

"Anyone who sighted Mr Cly on the hill or who has information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101."
