Searches are continuing in the Highlands for for missing hillwalker Robin Garton.

The 69-year old is believed to be in the Glencoe area, and has been missing since Friday** **25th September 2015.

Search efforts continued in the Glencoe area at the weekend, involving officers and local Mountain Rescue Teams.

Fort William based Inspector Andy Bilton "The Lochaber area experiences an increase in visitors in the holiday period so we are appealing once again to visitors and local residents to be mindful of the ongoing search activity and to report any information to us. All information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, will be considered as we continue to search for Mr Garton. We are very grateful for all assistance to date from partner agencies and members of the public"

The family of Mr Garton also reiterated their public appeal for any information: “We are extremely grateful to members of the emergency services and search & rescue personnel who have been helping in the search for Robin.

“We are increasingly desperate to find him. Somebody will have seen have seen him on the morning of the 25th September and we would appeal to anyone in the area that day to rack their brains. Alternatively, do you know of others that were walking that day who might have seen him?

"We'd like to appeal to anyone who saw Robin or may have spoken to him to please get in touch with the police on 101. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, may assist in bringing Robin home to his wife and children."

Mr Garton, from Devizes in Wiltshire, checked out of the Kingshouse Hotel in Glencoe at around 8am on Friday 25th September.

Officers traced Mr Garton's black Volkswagen Passat estate car in the Achnambeithach car park, off the A82 by Loch Achtriochtan.

It's believed Mr Garton may have had made plans to walk in the Coire Nam Beith or Bidean Nam Bian areas.

Mr Garton is described as 6’2” in height, of slim to medium build with fair hair which is slightly balding.

He occasionally wears glasses.
