Scotland's Top Cop Questioned By MSPs Over Stop And Search
Chief Constable Sir Stephen House is facing questions from one of Holyrood’s toughest committee this afternoon.
Police Scotland is embroiled in a row with MSPs about stop and search and its use on under 12s.
It comes a week after a special Scottish Police Authority Meeting in Glasgow where Sir House was questioned by the panel.
Figures obtained under Freedom of Information showed that 356 under-12s were stopped and searched on a consensual basis, despite a clear commitment last year to end the practice for children. Police Scotland revealed that it has now reviewed the data, and only 18 of the searches had been contrary to force policy.
