A campaign has been launched to urge a one night boycott of nightclubs after a number of people alleged being injected on dance floors across the country

An online campaign is urging club goers to boycott venues on Thursday the 28th of October in a stand against spiking.
Those going to nightclubs and bars have had to be aware of the risk of someone looking to 'spike' their drink, by putting drugs into it without their knowledge, for years.
But in recent weeks a number of people have taken to social media to report feeling the effects of being spiked, and finding a needle mark on their body - suggesting a new method being used by perpetrators.
Now a group called 'Girls night in Edinburgh' as well as an Aberdeen based Instagram page called ' Reclaim these streets Aberdeen' are urging the boycott.
They want it to act as a way to urge venues to heighten security at their doors, with more bag checks as well as enhanced CCTV.
Abbie Malone is from Edinburgh and runs the Aberdeen instagram page, she says she knows many people who have been spiked, and the prospect of being injected now makes going out almost unthinkable.

A number of venues have responded to being tagged in social media posts by listing the precautions they take, and making clear that customer safety is their priority.
