Scotland fans who have travelled to London to watch the national team play England today are being warned to check their journey if they're due to travel back on Sunday.

It's as strike action by RMT Union means only a small number of services are operating beyond Glasgow Central Station and Edinburgh Waverley.

Up to 300 fans every 30 minutes will be returning to Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley.

This means passengers travelling back to either station from London on Sunday may not be able to get on their connecting train.

David Simpson, operations director of ScotRail, said: "We know from talking to our cross-border train operator colleagues a lot of fans are travelling back from Friday's game on Sunday.

15% of normal service running on Sunday

"The problem we've got is because of the RMT strike, there will be a very limited service on ScotRail on Sunday.

"Only about 15% of our normal service and most of that around the Glasgow area - there will be nothing at all from Edinburgh.

"We think there will be hundreds of fans coming back on top of the usual Sunday customer base, from the games so we want to make sure everyone's aware of this issue in ScotRail and makes plans accordingly because there will be no services from Edinburgh in particular to other parts of Scotland on ScotRail trains because of the RMT dispute."
