Ross County's season boils down to the next two games

Cut-throat weekend for top six contenders as County bid to hold off the challenge of Dundee

Manager Jim McIntyre remains confident that Ross County can seal a place in the SPFL Premiership's top six, despite the precarious situation in midtable of late. He says; "Our form's been inconsistent, but what we now know is that we have a two game season, and we probably just have to go out and win both games" Approaching a crucial period of their season, the County boss has some injury concerns affecting his selection for their two fixtures before the Premiership split. The Staggies boss said; "Liam Boyce has broken another bone in his hand, but we don't think it's as bad as the last time he injured himself" "He'll see a specialist on Wednesday and we'll hope to hear more then" Boyce came back from international duty with Northern Ireland following the problem. His hand injury at the end of 2015 saw him miss most of January, starting with the derby defeat to Inverness. There's also bad news following on from the most recent encounter with rivals Caley Thistle, as McIntyre explained; "Jackson (Irvine) will probably miss the next two games as he's got ankle ligament damage following on from the derby game" The Aussie midfielder came off at the interval following an incident with ICT's Iain Vigurs. However there is one ray of light for the Ross County boss: "(Scott) Fox is back in training this week so that's good news, but he'll probably need another weeks training after coming back in" The 3-0 defeat to Inverness leaves County still sixth, but just three points ahead of this weekend's opponents Dundee. McIntyre believes his players were eager for the internationals given their exertions over the month of March: "It was a break that we needed, going into the last game against Inverness, we had several who were depleted shall we say." "Some were carrying knocks and just needed the time to recover - and recover mentally as well - from what had been an intense couple of weeks" "This weekend's a huge weekend, we can all cut each other's throats, but we really need to just focus on ourselves"
