Ross County defender Callum Morris has been called up by Northern Ireland for their fothcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Luxembourg and Germany.

This is the first time since 2017 that Callum has been called up to the Northern Ireland squad, having previously been called up during spells at both Aberdeen and Dunfermline.

On his call up, Callum said “It’s a great honour. I am absolutely delighted, getting in to national teams is a lot more difficult as you don’t have the coaches watching you every day but obviously my performances during matches have been to a standard where they think I am worthy of being there"

"Being selected for your national team is always something that a player wants to do and it’s a very prestigious moment for any player of any nationality. I have to thank everybody around me who has supported me and brought the best out in me here at Ross County be it the management, staff, players and fans.”

The Ross County management hailed the inclusion of the defender, Steven Ferguson said “Callum is a good guy who works really hard and always tries to bring the best out in himself and others around him and is really deserving of his opportunity"

"Going away with the Northern Irish squad I am sure will be a great experience for Callum and something that he will want to build on. As a club it’s a fantastic achievement to see one of our players selected for international duty but equally it has to come from merit and Callum has shown his merit and his strengths for us and we are sure he will take those strengths to this Northern Irish squad"
