Roadworks set for A96 Forres

Resurfacing works worth almost £350,000 will be carried out at the A96 Forres Bypass starting later this week.

The project will take place between the Treatment Works access and the 40mph Speed Limit, helping to ensure that the A96 continues to operate safely for years to come. The improvements will involve resurfacing both lanes of the carriageway. This section of the A96 is used by around 11,500 vehicles every day and the investment will address cracks or potholes in the surface, creating a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

The works will begin on Friday 19th May and will involve a combination of day and night working. The improvements will begin at 7:30pm on Friday and run continuously until 6:30am Monday morning. Then works will take place over a further two nights, Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd May, beginning at 7:30pm and finishing by 6:30am to avoid daytime working during the weekdays.

To keep road workers as well as motorists safe during the improvements temporary traffic lights will be in place. These will be lifted during weekdays to minimise any impact to traffic.
