For the first time, the famous Red Arrows flew with the RAF's new submarine hunting aircraft, but the display at Lossiemouth had to be called off.

Cloud cover meant the Hawk jets of the RAF'S Aerobatic Team couldn't perform their eye-catching stunts.

During the show the jets fly very closely together and just as they look like they're going to crash, they pull away at the last second.

Due to the risk involved with the weather at Lossie, the show had to be cancelled.

However, the jets did meet up with the Poseidon aircraft which is based at RAF Lossiemouth.

The base is currently home to five Poseidon MRA1 aircraft with another four due to arrive by the end of 2021.

The Red arrows are still expected at Peterhead this evening at around 7pm as part of Scottish Week.

Organisers say from Mile End - Links Terrace will be closed from 6.30pm-7:30pm with and the Lido Carpark is shut until 9pm
