An RAF Typhoon's had a near miss with a passenger plane near Wick.

The civilian pilot was forced to dive to avoid a mid-air crash with the military jet - which was travelling at 400 miles per hour.

An inquiry by the UK Airprox Board has found the passenger plane saw the typhoon late, while the RAF pilot didn't see it at all.

It classed the incident in June as category B - the second most serious.
