Gavin Price says he's more disappointed about this year's results with Elgin City than his dismissal as manager.
The club confirmed the departure of Price and his assistant Jim Weir after the Borough Briggs side lost 3-0 away to Albion Rovers.
The result leaves Elgin bottom of League Two with five games left until the end of the season.
Until yesterday, Price had been working at the club since 2014 - initially there as assistant before becoming manager in 2017.
Posting to his Twitter page, he said: "Been an honour and a pleasure to have worked at Elgin City since 2014.
"Sad to be leaving a Club and people who have become a big part of my life, but understand how football works.
"Results haven’t been good enough this year, I am more gutted about that than I am my dismissal."
Elgin confirmed Price's departure with a statement on their social media pages.
It said: "We can confirm the departure of manager Gavin Price and assistant Jim Weir following a sustained period of poor results.
"The Board of Directors wish to thank Gavin and Jim for their hard work and dedication since joining.
"A further statement will be issued in due course."
