£800,000 worth of cannabis discovered in Moray

A cannabis farm worth around £800,000 has been found in the North East of Scotland.

Police say the discovery was made within a premises near Drummuir on Monday.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and was due to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a cannabis cultivation having been found within a premises off the B9014 near Drummuir around 1.40pm on Monday, 28 October, 2024.

“Officers attended and it is estimated to be worth around £800,000.

“A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and is expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 30 October, 2024.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
