Portsoy Bans Bananas

Published 18th Jun 2015

Bananas are being banned from a North East town.

It's happening in Portsoy, as a publicity stunt for the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival next month.

Organisers say it's because bananas used to be considered bad luck by seafarers.

That could be because of stories of overpacked ships fom the Carribean, or because they're a favourite hiding place for poisonous spiders.
