Polls Open For General Election At 7am

The polls are open from 7am in the 2015 General Election today.

The polls are open from 7am in the 2015 General Election today.

There are more than 2,500 polling places around Scotland; mostly schools, church halls and council buildings which will remain open for voting until 10pm tonight.

Votes are cast marking an X next to the candidate then posted in one of more than 5-thousand ballot boxes.

Voters are being warned against taking selfies while they're voting as photography is prohibited inside polling places.
