Police Scotland to send 120 officers to Northern Ireland to help with riots
More anti-immigrations protests are planned there.
Police Scotland has confirmed it is sending 120 officers over to Northern Ireland to help the force there respond to threats of violence.
It has received a mutual aid request from the Police Service of Northern Ireland ahead of more planned anti-immigration protests.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Mutual aid requests are always balanced against the needs of policing in Scotland.
"As a national service, Police Scotland has the ability to flex resources where the need is greatest in order to keep people safe."
In Northern Ireland, ten officers have been injured and 23 people have been arrested after five nights of violence and disorder.
