Police Won't Release Name Of Inverness Road Crash Victim

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a lorry in Inverness city centre on Hogmanay.

Police in Inverness have confirmed a pedestrian killed in a road crash was a 56 year old local man.

He died after being struck by a lorry on Bridge Street on Wednesday.

Nearby celebrations for New Year's Eve were cancelled as a result.

It's believed the man was from the Inverness area.

The family say they don't want his name released.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
