Police probe smash on A9 near Carrbridge
Two people are seriously injured in hospital
Road Policing officers in Inverness are appealing for witnesses following a serious road crash on the A9 at Carrbridge.
The incident happened around 2.25pm and involved a red Nissan Qashqai travelling southbound and a grey Citroen C4 travelling northbound.
Emergency services attended and a 69-year-old woman and a 37-year old man were taken to Raigmore Hospital. They are both described as being in a serious but stable condition.
The road was closed and diversions were put in place whilst officers carried out enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
Road Policing Inspector Alistair Mackay said: "Enquiries are at an early stage and it's important we establish exactly what happened here. I am appealing to any witnesses who may have seen the accident or were driving shortly before it to come forward as soon as possible. I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation to get in touch."
